Not the Man She Thought

I recommend as Enjoyable! Heroine with dubious social skills and absolutely no common sense decides to hitch a ride on a freighter. Why? Because a boyfriend (*married*) got her in the sack by pretending to be a fiance. And that’s the high point. The captain (hero) and crew waste time, resources, and energy dealing with every single foreseeable screw-up she makes. The hero gets off on spanking bad monkeys at least, so the reader gets plenty of satisfaction every time he comes to her rescue. And once visa versa; her only redeemable quality is that she’s not stupid.

Favorite Quote:
Laken backed into the desk behind her, “I have nothing to say to you.”
He raised a brow, “Not even a simple ‘thank you’ for coming to your rescue back there?”
She lifted her chin, “I told you, I can take care of myself.”
“Like hell,” he growled, “If I hadn’t come looking for you, you’d have had half the men in the saloon between your legs by now, with the other half waiting to take their turn.”
She knew he was right, but he didn’t have to be so vulgar about it, “You’re disgusting.”
